GRUB Reinstalation after Windows install

After reinstalling Windows on my laptop I have lost possibility to get into Linux(CentOS). It was only matter of reinstalling GRUB as a default boot manager. I done it like that:

From the http://www.sysresccd.org/ page i downloaded iso image of that linux distro. Then I burned that iso into CD, and started it.

In the command line i wroted

# grub

Next thing was to locate the partition where grub is

grub> find /boot/grub/stage1

I got answer like hdX,Y – the partition where GRUB is. Now I have to do:

grub> root (hdX,Y)
grub> setup (hdX)

after that I had the GRUB setup complete. Now I have to quit grub

grub> quit

and restart my laptop. Works fine 🙂
